NY Tech Day Coming to NoMad in April
Wednesday February 1, 2012
NYU has reported NoMad will be the host for this city’s first ever Tech Day on April 19. The event is set to highlight startup tech companies in this city, as the amount of tech companies in New York seems to be growing daily. The organizers behind the expo are set to feature over 200 New York City-based companies and invite thousands of attendees to raise publicity around startups in this city.
“There’s a lot of startups in NYC that are just really heads down at their computers in their offices working their hearts out on their startups and they don’t really get the exposure,” NY Tech Day co-founder John Petersen said. “We want to make sure that we’re giving them the platform to show off what they’re working on and we think that this was an opportunity to show off to their peers and other startups.”
NY Tech Day will give New York startups the ability to feature their company with either a small or large booth — the starting fee for a booth will set you back $385. After the expo there will be an award ceremony for the beststartups in the city — awards will be given for the best startup, most thrifty startup, best mobile startup, etc.
If you are a startup here on Silicon Alley and want to get involved, or if you just want to be a spectator, you can check out all of the information at their site here.
Attending the event will be free to the public through registration, but there is a limit to the number of tickets so make sure you act fast!
