New Events Taking Place This Spring In Madison Square Park 2012
Wednesday February 22, 2012
With days like today in NoMad, we can almost feel the icy winter melting away before our eyes. We’re even getting a hint of the distinct smells of spring in New York City. Being in NoMad, we are lucky to be able to walk through Madison Square Park everyday, and there is no better time to do so than in the gorgeous spring weather. Madison Park is fantastic on its own, but what makes it even better are all of the amazing events the Conservancy always has lined up for us. We have a breakdown of some of the highlights to look out for in the coming months, just to get you in the mood for the warm sunny weather!
Highlights at Madison Square Park Spring 2012
- In March, Madison Square Park will have approximately 75,000 bulbs in bloom! We’re talking crocus, daffodils, tulips, Spanish blue bells, and everything in between. So this means these beautiful flowers will be highlighting the park with some outstanding color from March all the way through early June!
- The amazing events will be back, as well as the incredible art installations. This season will feature Charles Long’s exhibition Pet Sounds. We will have more on this, including a little sneak peak!
- Mad. Sq. Eats returns to Worth Square, and will once again feature some of the most amazing food the city has to offer. Just like last year, the Eats festival will run daily from early May through early June and then there will be a second installment running in late September. We can’t wait for this!
- The Spring Party event will take place on Wednesday, May 16. This amazing fundraising event will be held at 11 Madison Avenue and will feature star chefs, April Bloomfield, Alain Allegretti, Nancy Olson and Victoriano Lopez.
