Noam Pikelny and Friends will perform on July 4 in the NoMad District

Before you head to that rooftop party on the Hudson that you’re scrambling to get an invite to, why not spend your July 4th afternoon in the heart of the NoMad District taking in some great tunes? As part of their 10-Year anniversary celebration, the Madison Square Park Conservancy is putting on an afternoon of music in Madison Square Park.

Headlining the show at 5pm is Noam Pikelny and Friends. Pikelny is a virtuosic banjo player who is part of the acclaimed bluegrass band the Punch Brothers. A couple of his bandmates will be joining him in this show as well. Famed comedian/banjo player Steve Martin stated that Pikelny is “a player of unlimited range and astonishing precision.”

Rounding out this bill of rockabilly and folk are The Sweetback Sisters at 4pm and Sputyen Duyvil at 3pm. Head on down to the heart of the NoMad District, Madison Square Park, and enjoy an afternoon in the sun.
