Rumored Expansion for The NoMad Library Bar
Rumors have been circulating that The Library, the cocktail parlor within The NoMad Hotel and Restaurant, will be expanding into an adjoining building in the coming months. The NoMad, which has been widely celebrated since it opened in 2012 by chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara, purchased the neighboring building, 10 West 28th Street, in June of last year for $6 million.
An inside source tells Eater.com that the newly-acquired four-story building will be a roomier version of The Library featuring an expanded food menu from James Kent. Information is limited at the moment, but given the huge success surrounding The NoMad and particularly its bar and library, an expansion would make sense.
The NoMad has become one of the city’s top destinations for dining, as well as exclusive private events, such as President Obama’s $40,000-a-plate fundraiser back in August of 2012. The Nomad Library Bar has been named one of the best bars in the country by Esquire and one of the 10 best bars America by ABC News.
This should shorten the wait for one of Leo Robitschek‘s famous cocktails!
