Leslie Spira Lopez Appointed Secretary of Madison Square Park Conservancy Board of Directors

Leslie Spira Lopez, President and CEO of Kew Management Corporation has been named Secretary of the Madison Square Park Conservancy Board of Directors.

Ms. Lopez is an enthusiastic supporter of the Madison Square / NoMad area.  As a long time resident and owner of Kew Management, which has owned landmark buildings in the area for nearly 60 years, she has long understood the vital roll the park plays in the health, excitement and financial success of the neighborhood. A regular financial supporter of the Conservancy’s work, Ms. Lopez has also been happy to be able to give her own time by serving on the board for six years.

“The renovation of the park and the continual work of the conservancy staff have made the park the keystone in the redevelopment of the entire area,” observed Lopez.  “Not only has the park helped NoMad reclaim its identity as a commercial hub, but also as a residential and entertainment center of New York, much as it was during the Gilded Age.  No one should lose sight of the fact that none of this would have been possible without the Conservancy’s vision and the incredible leadership of Debbie Landau, David Berliner and Danny Meyer.”

In response to her appointment, Ms. Lopez noted, “It is an honor to play a small part in this great success story that I think will become part of New York’s historic legend of constantly rebuilding itself even better than before.”

There is no question but that the rise of Flatiron and NoMad can be traced singularly back to the genius and hard work of Debbie Landau, David Berliner and Danny Meyer.
