Madison Square Park has events for the whole family this weekend

The run of Orly Genger’s Red, Yellow and Blue has ended. This Madison Square Park art installation brightened the park this summer with 1.4 million feet of colored rope.

This eco-friendly installation (all the rope was found by oceans and waterways) paired well with the park setting. The installation’s three large Barnett Newman-influenced structures undulated around the plant life and the park visitors to create an enveloping, ever changing art experience.

Fans of Mad. Sq. Art installations should be thrilled that the next exhibit is only a couple weeks away. Giuseppe Penone’s exciting installation Ideas of Stone will start on September 26th and run until February.  Plan to see these 40-foot bronze trees in person!
