According to the Huffington Post, one of our neighborhood haunts, is set to open new locations in both LA and DC starting next year. Eataly was thought to be nothing but a tourist trap, but it has proven itself as one of the premier food destinations in NoMad and the rest of NYC. Eataly has become so big that Little Italy’s merchants have been complaining that it’s been stealing business from Mulberry Street.
Joe Bastianich and Eataly’s co-owners (one of which is superstar chef Mario Batali) are excited to be opening the two new American branches of Eataly they currently have planned—in Los Angeles and Washington, DC.
Bastianich has said that the two new locations will be at least as big as the first, and will include both restaurant and market components like the one in NY. “What we’ve learned from opening Eataly New York,” he told the Huffington Post, “is that, because this is a big idea, it needs a big platform. Whereas your instinct might be, in a smaller market, to go smaller, we’re actually thinking now that we should go bigger.”
Los Angeles and DC are lucky to be gaining one of the best food spots around, just have a look at the spread Bobby Flay picked up the other week for his lunch!

There are rumors of a new Starbucks or restuarant opening on the north east and southwest corners of 26th and Broadway. Has anyone heard what’s going on there?
We can never have too much coffee Michael =)
Does anyone know where they’ll be located????
