Bloomberg Pushing For New Zoning In Midtown East
Wednesday October 17, 2012
The NY Times has a very interesting article about some zoning changes that Mayor Bloomberg is trying to put forward in Midtown. For those interested in office space near Midtown, this is a very relevant piece of local news. Basically, he is encouraging the city council to approve zoning that would allow for high-rises to be built in Midtown East that would tower over the current buildings. Mayor Bloomberg contends that without zoning changes, that would allow for historic buildings to be knocked down and high-rises to be constructed in their place, Midtown will no longer to be able to compete in the future to attract businesses from all over the world.
